Orelia Velazquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Myles Schutte, LPC-S. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of the Incarnate Word. Orelia has gained valuable experience working with children in school settings and behavior therapy.

Orelia is passionate about counseling children, adolescents, young adults/couples, and families facing challenges such as divorce, depression, anxiety, and relational issues. Her therapeutic approach integrates biblical principles with evidence-based clinical methods, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and individual counseling. While she values the benefits of incorporating biblical principles into the counseling process, Orelia fully respects the wishes of clients who prefer not to combine these elements. Her commitment to honoring each client’s beliefs helps foster trust and strengthen the therapeutic relationship.

In her free time, Orelia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, dancing, cooking, and photography. She also enjoys learning new things and continuing to expand her skills and education.
